Saddle River. NJ is a borough in Bergen County. As of the 2020 census, it has a population of 3,180. The name Saddle River comes from the Saddle River, which flows through the borough and which is a tributary of the Passaic River. The Saddle River in turn, was named for a stream and valley in Saddell, Argyll, Scotland.
